This lesson seems very intimate, very cozy. The teacher is able to teach her students at a distance she chooses, and is able to be with them whenever they request her help. However, there remains a bit of a buffer with the desks arranged as such, allowing the teacher to retain a sense of authority.
This lesson reinforces lessons and activities are arranged in blocks of fifteen to twenty minutes, regardless of age group. A whole lesson may be an hour, but the parts of it must be distinct to avoid the danger of monotony.
The teacher’s whiteboard seemed interesting to work with. No ink on her hands, the board was entirely projection. Her usage of this technology seemed well practiced with little to no trouble with it. As a teacher, it seems it must be vital to know what tools I’ll need to work with, and adapt as necessary whenever soemthing new is introduced, or on the other hand, when something I’d like to work with is absent.
She pays a great amount of attention to her students whatever they may be doing. She is constantly listening, and ready to interject whenever she has the chance to correct any imperfections they may be demonstrating in their speaking skills. Her energy is constantly high. This is a weakness of mine, but it is something to can be resolved simply by prepping for class. I’ll need to ensure my energy is high when I begin teaching lessons. This could extend to the students. It can be difficult to bring energy up of others, but as long as I start out with energy, I can work on bringing up my students.
