As the days to the end of the semester began to count down in increasing speed, this lesson plan was of utmost importance to my partner and me. Which is not to state any of the lessons prior were of any less importance, it was we were being evaluated during this lesson. We were under more intense scrutiny than usual, which placed some pressure onto us. We did well.
Were the evaluation to have happened a week earlier, we may not have done as we did. Then, we were coming off a stumble, and wanted to recover. However, the evaluation coming when it did was serendipitous. We were far more solid due to our failure and recovery. We also had an opportunity to move into a topic the students were definitely more familiar with: Requesting Help on Campus. Everything we learnt during our courses, and everything we did in our practicums was on display for our evaluation. Well, I hope so.
With everything I have learnt, and everything I will learn, I think I may have a future teaching ESL for some time. I may not retire as an ESL teacher, but it grants me opportunity to do even more in the future.
